 - January 31, 2017, Zagreb: The 2nd meeting of the Platform for consultations and cooperation between Roma stakeholders, local and regional self-government and stakeholders from the public institutions at local, regional and national level was held at Hotel Panorama in Zagreb on Tuesday, 31 January 2017. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage the implementation of the National Roma Inclusion Strategy 2013-2020 at local and regional level and improve the co-operation and co-ordinate the work of the partners and other stakeholders whose activities are aimed at improving the socio-economic position and inclusion of Roma in Croatia.

The meeting gathered some eighty attendees - members of Roma associations, Roma minority councils and elected representatives, representatives of nine self-governments involved in the project implementation, as well as relevant institutions from local, regional and national levels.

Representatives of the Office for Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Labor and Pension System, CES (Croatian Employment Service), Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Ministry of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy, The Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of the Interior and the Office of the Ombudsman gave presentations.

This meeting was organized within the framework of the project "Fostering implementation of the National Roma Inclusion Strategy at local and regional level", implemented by the Roma National Council and the Center for Peace,  Legal Advice and Psychosocial Assistance - Vukovar. The project is funded by EU funds from IPA 2012 pre-accession assistance program, through the Central Finance and Contracting Agency - SAFU. The project is co-financed by the Office for NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
