 - 20 May 2015, Sveti Martin na Muri: The final evaluation round table discussion of the „Uniting differences – fostering the integration of Roma preschool children“ was held. The round table was attended by some 20 representatives of local and regional (self)governments in Međimurje County, representatives of local pre-school institutions and relevant international experts, as well as representatives of the Roma community and civil society organizations.

In the period from August 2013 - May 2015, the project was implemented by the Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeast Europe (CDRSEE) from Thessaloniki, Greece, in partnership with the Center for Peace, Legal Advice and psychosocial assistance from Vukovar and in cooperation with the Association of preschool teachers Krijesnice from Čakovec. With the participation of international and local experts and with an aim to strengthening the professional capacities of preschool teachers in pre-school programs and improving the inclusion of Roma children in pre-schools, a manual “Teaching for early-learning: A Reference guide for pre-school teachers in diverse classrooms“ was produced within the framework of the project and 5 workshops for the total of approximately 70 educators were organized in Međimurje County. The workshops were particularly devoted to the consideration and analyzing the subject of multiculturalism, tolerance and diversity.

Implementation of the project was co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.


- 19 May 2015, Slavonski Brod: Within the framework of the project “Roma Inclusion Advocacy Project”, implemented by the Centre for Peace, Legal Advice and Psychosocial Assistance - Vukovar, STINA Institute from Split and the Association of Roma Friendship LUNA from Beli Manastir, a roundtable discussion was organized "Report on the implementation of the alternative monitoring of the implementation of the National Strategy for Roma Inclusion 2013 – 2020 – Brod-Posavina county."

The purpose of this roundtable was to present the results of the alternative monitoring of the implementation of measures for Roma inclusion at local and regional levels in Brod-Posavina county.

The report, that is the result of the monitoring process, and the manual for the “Alternative monitoring and advocacy for the implementation of the National Strategy for Roma Inclusion 2013 - 2020 - Guidelines for local Roma activists and representatives” were presented during the roundtable discussion.

Data research was presented by Čedo Todorović from the Association of Roma of Romanian origin "Ludari", who stated that the monitoring was conducted late last year, and sources of information were the institutions, local government, educational institutions, Council of Roma National Minority, Roma organizations and members of the Roma community.

The round table was attended by representatives of institutions from Slavonski Brod, local government, educational institutions, Roma organizations, civil society and media representatives.
